Elian followed the light until she found a hidden door behind the astronomy shelf. An old inscription crossed the wood: whoever reads without listening sees only letters; whoever listens carefully finds the world beneath them.

Beyond the door, the tower vanished. In its place stretched a midnight sea covered in floating pages. On every page slept a city, a creature, or a promise. Some pages hummed battle songs; others kept silences so deep they seemed like wells.

The storm roared with broken words, unfinished phrases, forgotten names. Elian did not fight it with sword or spell. She read. Slowly, respecting each pause, each breath, each point where a story needs silence to stay alive.

As the apprentice read, the black letters recovered their shape. They became bridges, bells, gardens, sleeping beasts, and letters someone had waited a hundred years to receive. The storm was not an enemy; it was a lost library searching for a voice that could arrange it.

At dawn, Elian returned to the tower with salt in her hair and stardust on her hands. The maps were still again, but they no longer looked like simple drawings. Every line was an invitation, every margin a kind border.

Since then, on clear nights, the tower lamp glows a little brighter. Anyone who approaches can hear a gentle narration through the walls: not too loud, not too fast, just enough to remember that books are not made only to be seen, but also to find a voice.

How to format EPUB, PDF, DOCX, and TXT

The best format is not only the one Taan can open. It is the one that preserves reading order, chapter titles, paragraphs, and punctuation.

EPUB

Best for complete books. Use an EPUB with a table of contents, one entry per chapter, chapter titles on their own line, and body text in real paragraph blocks.

Avoid EPUBs that include website menus, repeated ads, comment sections, broken HTML fragments, or all chapters merged into one unstructured block.

PDF

Use a PDF only when the text is selectable and copies in the correct order. One-column layouts work better than scans, magazines, tables, or multi-column pages.

If the PDF was scanned, run OCR first or export the source as DOCX/TXT when you have access to it.

DOCX

Best for editable documents, drafts, and manuscripts. Use Word styles or clear lines for Heading 1, Heading 2, and normal body text.

Avoid text boxes, floating objects, complex tables, manual spacing, and decorative chapter titles that are not real text.

TXT

Best for clean plain text. Save as UTF-8, put titles on their own line, and separate paragraphs with one blank line.

Avoid page numbers, hard line breaks after every visual line, hyphenated line endings, and pasted website navigation.

Does Taan support MOBI?

Not directly in the current public beta. Convert MOBI to EPUB first, then check chapter order and paragraph breaks.

Which format gives the best result?

For books, EPUB usually wins. For documents you can edit, DOCX or TXT can be cleaner. PDF is useful but needs the most care.
